I am a warm, skilled, down-to-earth therapist with knowledge and experience with a broad range of issues, including anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, trauma, PTSD, grief and chronic illness. My clients include adults, who I see individually or in Expressive Arts groups. I can be behaviorally and cognitively focused when working for example, with people who have symptoms of anxiety or depression but believe it is also important to understand the psycho-dynamic patterns and experiences in growing up that relate to present day issues.
I am an artist and have a certificate in Applied Creative Arts and Psychology. Art materials are available for those who are interested in using art and writing to gain understanding of themselves and work through issues. I am facilitating groups called “Honoring Our Lost Mothers and Others” and "Honoring Our Departed Animal Companions" for people who have experienced a significant loss whether it is the loss of a parent, relative, infant, friend or pet. The participants use art materials to honor and express their loss – no art experience is necessary.
My Evanston studio/office is conveniently located at 1129 Florence Ave. in central Evanston, between Dempster and Greenleaf with street parking in front of the building. It is accessible by public transportation with a three block walk. It has an easy four steps up to the studio/office. Once in the spacious sunny room, there is a comfortable seating area and an area to make art.
